"I was on my feet for the whole labour, which is probably why it was so fast, but all those squats & lunges really paid off! I’m sure that the core exercises helped a lot as well, as I was only pushing for 5 minutes & had very little pain relief throughout (paracetamol to start withand a few puffs on gas & air during transition). All in all I couldn't have asked for better.
As for post-natally... I have been good! I have got back to running again this last week with the go ahead from my doctor & chiropractor, & have completed 4 runs this week. I am getting back into doing abdominal work as well. I am very happy & so pleased with how everything turned out. I can't thank NME enough for all your help & advice. I have so much energy now, I can cope quite easily with the demands of motherhood. I put that down to the good diet & the exercise, so it was well worth it! Thank you! " (Elly)
"I
started training a few months before the birth of my 4th baby. I
had a history of stretched stomach muscles & wanted to try to avoid
it again. My NME trainer & I had a lot of fun together over the next few
months before & after Will was born. Last September, I walked 60km
for Breakthrough Breast Cancer & was probably the fittest I have
ever been. After a decade of babies & breast feeding, I felt pretty
proud of myself! It was a lot of hard work on my part, but my NME trainer
got me going & gave me the encouragement & the belief that I
could be fit ...and she even sponsored me! Try it, it worked for
me!" (Jane)
"Signing
up for a course of sessions with No More Excuses wasn't just about
losing my excess pregnancy weight but about feeling
fit & good about myself. The sessions were well-structured, varied,
achieved my aims & most importantly, although the trainer worked
me hard, they were also fun. I would highly recommend a course
of sessions to my friends." (Sheila)
"I could hardly walk to the end of the road without
feeling out of breath 6 months ago. Now I run for an hour at a
time with my NME trainer,
& we also do weight training at the gym. I have run a 5KM race
& am training for a 10K! I feel great & have lost the weight,
although that's not even my main incentive anymore - I just really
enjoy it & how it makes me feel!" (Jane)
"When I found out I was pregnant I wanted to stay
fit & healthy but was really nervous about what exercise I should
be doing and
how much. My trainer is very knowledgeable & has given me a programme
that we do at my home. I know that what I'm doing is safe & good
for me & my baby." (Claire)
"After my third baby, I wanted to regain the fitness
I'd had in my twenties, when I used to run & play a lot of racquet
sports. I
thought I'd never get that level of fitness back, but I have! I
work out with my trainer 3 times a week & we run, do weights,
play squash
or go cycling. I know if I didn't have her I'd always have an excuse
not to do it, but she fits around my schedule & makes sure I
do." (Debbie)
"I just wanted to say thank you! For the therapy
sessions! , for the encouragement, but most of all for helping
me to enjoy exercising
& change the way I view exercise & myself." (Lorraine)
