The first stage in the process of taking on a personal trainer is the consultation.
This meeting lasts around 30 minutes, takes place at your home, & is
completely free of charge & obligation.
Your NME trainer will visit you at home, & discuss your medical & exercise
history as well as your goals & objectives. She will talk about your lifestyle,
eating habits & fitness, as well as carry out a medical screening to determine
your suitability for exercise. Details of your pregnancy, previous pregnancies,
your birth experiences & your post natal recovery, where relevant, will enable
us to build up an accurate picture of your needs & capabilities. Health checks
& tests (e.g. resting heart rate & blood pressure) may also be carried
out at this stage, & may be used on an ongoing basis to monitor progress.
Remember that this is also the time for you to ask questions & advice, and
to establish whether you feel comfortable with your potential trainer. Personal
training is a relationship that requires commitment, confidence & compatibility
on both sides – so if you feel that any of this is lacking, now is the
time to say so! Whilst all NME trainers are highly qualified & approved by
us, styles & personalities vary, & we want to find you someone you really ‘click’ with.
If you’re not completely comfortable, just let us know & we’ll
endeavour to find you someone else.
